Obituary – Niki Nocke

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Niki Nocke.
He was one of the most active members of the IECU Board, serving as Chief Measurer from 1988 to 2016. At first, many of us considered him to be too strict, but we soon realized that thanks to his dedication allmateriallgradually came to comply fully with the class rules.

We will always remember his small metal ruler tucked into the front pocket of his beige shirt, and his corduroy trousers. The image of Niki walking through the boat park, leaving little Post-it notes on boats to gently remind sailors know that something was not quite right, remains unforgettable.

His legacy will always be here. He was a true mentor for all of us who had the privilege to know him, and for those who were fortunate enough to attend one of his outstanding measurement seminars.

We will hold in our hearts a true friend.
